Dr. Andrew Dean

Dr Marta Dean is a 1990 graduate of the CSU Veterinary
many clubs such as the wildlife and zoological medicine
Pennsylvania, where she treated dairy cattle on Amish
farms, as well as horses and small animals, and a mixed
pigs, small animals and horses, and before returning to
doctor small animal and exotic practice in western
Pennsylvania. She has recently finished terms as vice-
Medical Association.
Dr Dean has interests in all aspects of small animal
medicine. This includes dogs and cats, as well as birds,
reptiles, rodents, ferrets and rabbits (and other exotic
species). She enjoys diagnostic medicine (solving
complicated medical cases, especially) and surgery of all
species. Over the past few years, she has devoted much
time in personal study and continuing education to refine
her skills in these areas.
Dr. Dean believes strongly in developing close
relationships with her patients and "their people". She
offers thorough, quality medical care for all species of
companion animals and has compassion and
understanding for their owners. She promotes client
education regarding the proper care of animals,
especially in the case of exotic pets, where many medical
problems are caused by improper nutrition and
husbandry.
Some of her favorite non-veterinary past-times include
spending time with her two daughters and her husband,
playing music (guitar and hammered dulcimer), walking in
the mountains, singing, riding horses, gardening, oil
painting, caring for her chickens, cats, dogs, birds, etc, etc,
and reading.

Dr. Andrew Dean is a native of the LaPorte area and a 1991
graduate of the CSU Veterinary College. He and his wife
returned to the Front Range after selling a successful equine
only practice in western Pennsylvania. In addition to his horse
practice, he has worked in a small animal exclusive practice and
a mixed animal practice which included beef cattle, horses, pigs,
and small animals in Nebraska.
Dr. Dean is a consummate horseman. He has worked with
horses most of his life and is a farrier and trainer as well as a
veterinarian. He has special interests in diagnosing and treating
foot problems (including therapeutic shoeing) and performance
dentistry, as well as all aspects of general medical care for
horses. He has trained and competed successfully with
endurance horses. During his farm calls, he enjoys discussing
handling, grooming, nutrition and training tips with owners. He
believes strongly in owner education and open communications
between veterinarian, owners and trainers.
Dr. Dean is a long time board member of the Colorado Horse
Council, and has lectured nationwide on such topics as dentistry,
hoof care, special shoeing techniques, etc.
In his spare time, Dr. Dean enjoys riding and training his own
family's horses, participating in a variety of horse related
activities such as the Arapahoe hunt, trail rides, etc. Dr, Dean
has expanded his practice of forging and metal work to include
creating beautiful works of metal art. (look for some examples at
the clinic in the coming year!) He also enjoys writing articles,
lecturing at horse clubs, singing tenor in both his church choir
and the Larimer Chorale, reading, and spending time with his
wife and daughters.
Dr. Anne Little is a talented and
friendly veterinarian who helps us on
an as-needed relief basis (you may
have the pleasure of meeting her on
certain Saturdays, or at times when Dr.
Marta Dean is away from the clinic).
She enjoys all aspects of small animal
medicine and also believes strongly in
owner education and compassionate,
thorough care for your furry friends.
